Three of the big ‘uns are at sea tonight. Phaedo and Masarati work the shift and try to guess where to enter the trade winds for their run from the Canaries to the Carib in the RORC Transat. Phaedo looks to have better guessed by trending South first, and is 300 miles ahead of Soldini’s foiler.
Thomas Coville races ahead of Francis Joyon’s solo round the marble effort. Having taken a big dive South, Coville is circling Antarctica at break-neck speed – perhaps the loneliest man on earth.
